The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is inviting applications for its highly anticipated Capacity Building Program 2026, a fully funded three-day event set to take place in the vibrant city of Kunming, China. Scheduled from September 7th to 9th, 2026, this prestigious program aims to gather approximately 20 dedicated participants from eligible ASEM Partner countries. The initiative is specifically designed for professionals actively engaged in shaping policy, designing impactful programs, implementing institutional practices, leading advocacy efforts, conducting critical research, or facilitating public dialogue on the crucial topic of gender equality. Hosted collaboratively by ASEF and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, this international training program is meticulously structured to enhance understanding and practical application of strategies for fostering women's robust participation in inclusive governance and sustainable development across various sectors. Participants will immerse themselves in a series of intensive training sessions, offering a unique platform for cross-regional learning and the invaluable exchange of knowledge and experiences between Asian and European counterparts. Beyond the structured learning, the program also incorporates a enriching cultural tour, providing attendees with an opportunity to delve into China's profound history and rich cultural heritage. Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must hold citizenship in one of the eligible ASEM Partner countries.

• Demonstrated working proficiency in the English language is a mandatory requirement for effective participation in all program activities and discussions.

• Priority consideration will be extended to candidates who currently hold positions that enable them to significantly influence policy formulation, program design, institutional practices, advocacy campaigns, research initiatives, or public discourse related to gender equality.

• The program actively encourages and strives for a gender-balanced representation among its selected participants, promoting diverse perspectives and experiences.

• Required application documents include an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing professional experience and qualifications, and a formal Letter of Endorsement from the applicant's current organization, affirming their support for participation.
