Applicants can apply through an established CEEPUS network or as a "Freemover" from a non-network university, providing a dynamic platform for international academic exchange and immersion in diverse educational environments.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

To qualify for the CEEPUS Scholarship, applicants must meet specific requirements based on their academic status and country of origin. The program is open to citizens and residents of the following CEEPUS member countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. All candidates, whether students or teachers, must be actively enrolled or employed at a university in one of these participating CEEPUS member countries. Students seeking a grant must have completed a minimum of two academic semesters at their home institution. The program distinguishes between several types of mobility:

• Student Mobility (General & Short-Term): Open to Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD students. Short-term mobility is specifically for Bachelor's/Master's students working on their thesis or PhD candidates. Applications can be submitted through a CEEPUS network or as a Free-mover, requiring a Letter of Acceptance from a host university.

• Teacher Mobility: Academic staff must commit to a minimum of six hours of teaching or supervision at the host institution. Teachers can apply within a network or as a Free-mover.

Free-mover applicants are responsible for contacting their desired Hungarian host university to obtain a formal Letter of Acceptance, a crucial document for their application.
