The Master's programs typically span 17 months, while Doctoral programs are structured for 36 months, providing ample time for in-depth study and research.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the KOICA Scholarship Program 2027, applicants must meet a stringent set of requirements:

• Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of one of the countries officially designated by the Korean government (KOICA). These include a wide range of nations across Africa (e.g., Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe), Latin America and the Caribbean (e.g., Belize, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Peru), Asia (e.g., Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri-Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam), Oceania (e.g., Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu), and Europe/Middle East (e.g., Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan).

• Government Nomination: Applicants must be current government officials and secure an official nomination or recommendation from their respective government authorities.

• Age Limit: Candidates must be under the age of 40 years at the time of application.

• Health Status: Individuals with severe illnesses are not eligible to apply for this program.

• English Proficiency: Strong command of the English language is mandatory for all applicants, as the programs are conducted in English.

• Academic Background for Master's: Prospective Master's students must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in their chosen field of study.

• Academic Background for Doctoral: Doctoral candidates are required to have completed a Master's degree and accumulated at least three years of relevant work experience post-Master's completion.

• University-Specific Requirements: All applicants must also satisfy the specific admission criteria set forth by the individual South Korean universities to which they are applying.

• Travel Expenses: Round-trip airfare to and from South Korea will be provided for successful candidates.

• Settlement Allowance: A one-time settlement allowance is provided upon arrival: KRW 600,000 for Master's students and KRW 1,200,000 for Doctoral students.
