Eligibility Criteria

Applicants from all nationalities are encouraged to apply, provided they meet specific criteria demonstrating high achievement and independent research or creative capabilities. Former Harvard fellows are not eligible. The requirements vary based on the applicant's professional category:

• General Requirements:

• For Practitioners:

• For Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Applicants:

  • Must possess a doctorate relevant to their proposed project.

• For Creative Arts Applicants:

  • Poetry: Publication of at least 20 poems within the last five years or a published book of poetry, and currently working on a manuscript.

  • Playwriting: Demonstrated independent work achievement, such as play productions or similar accomplishments.

  • Music Composition: A PhD or DMA is preferred but not strictly required. Must be a professional artist with a recent performance record.
